Leslie Driver Belt 122A/147A/771
DESCRIPTION
Specifically for the Leslie 122A/122XB/147A , 771, 812, 814 and 3300 speakers - used for both the upper and lower rotors. Loose or too tightly tensioned belts will result in sluggish speed control. Check the tension every couple months to make sure the belt has not stretched. Also check for shredding - a sign that the belt is getting ready to fail. Will not work on vintage 122/147/251 models.
Proper tension on the lower rotor belt can be determined by timing how long the lower rotor takes to reach tremolo speed. A correctly adjusted belt will take 5 to 8 seconds to reach full speed. One way to judge this is to hold a bass pedal or low note down and throw the Leslie console switch to tremolo. Listen and count. TIP: Don't let the belt tension get too loose; it can fall off the lower rotor pulley. Then you get to remove the speaker to put it back on.
