Tolex Glue / Special Glue for Tolex Tweed
ca. 700 g can
We recommend this glue to apply tolex or tweed cloth on wood surfaces. In general this glue can be used for PVC, VINYL, ABS, Polyamid, Polytherephtalatfoils, Celluloseester, PUR, Elastomere with each other or on wood, cloth or leather. Note: all surfaces must be dry and clean, free from oils and fat.
How to use:
Apply glue on both surfaces equally. With regular processing (>18° C) let dry 5 -10 Min. (finger test feels dry)
and press together. Hot processing with temperatures > 80° C is possible. In this case let dry completely (ca. 30min.), activate with heat and press together immediately. Hold pressure while cooling down. Final hardness is achieved after a few days.
This is a pressure sensitive adhesive and sufficient pressure must be applied to the entire surface.
Make sure both surfaces have a good coating of glue on them.
Important note; Different woods will absorb some of the glue more than others, so a second light coat may be necessary.
This is a pressure sensitive adhesive and sufficient pressure must be applied to the entire surface. We use wood blocks with the corners radiused to apply pressure on the surfaces. Applying heat with a heat gun or hair dyer is helpful, when applying tolex to inside radiuses. Bottom line, there is a whole lot of rubbing and pressure that needs to be applied.
Usage: 150-250 g/m² (for both sides), depends on how absorptive ground is
Different woods will absorb some of the glue more than others, so a second light coat may be necessary.
IMPORTANT NOTE: for safe storage store at or above 3°C, protect from freezing.
